Be kind to your future self, and your future will be kind to you.

About This Quote

The next time you are tempted to say or do something you shouldn't, remember the advice of self-improvement guru Dale Carnegie. What he said goes like this: “Be kind to your future self, and your future will be kind to you.” We all want to be successful. Unfortunately, success can often come at a high price. For instance, I know someone who paid his own money to get plastic surgery so he could look better than his peers.

He did so because he was ashamed of the way he looked. His reaction was absolutely natural, but it was also absolutely wrong. The way he looked wasn’t the source of his problems; it was just something that affected him in his life.

The real problem was that he didn’t feel good about himself and spent his time comparing himself with others. He did something that he thought would make him feel better about himself, but instead it only made him feel worse. He needed to get to the root of the problem and realize that when people look at him they don’t see his outside appearance; they see the man inside him.
